Health Information Management


 

The Health Information Management (HIM) Department is responsible for all inpatient and outpatient Medical Center health records. The goal of the Health Information Management Department is to ensure the accuracy, confidentiality and accessibility of health records in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The health record documents the service provided by clinical professionals and allied health professionals who work in a variety of settings at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

The HIM Department is open 7:00 a.m. to midnight, except on holidays, when the hours are 8:00 a.m. to midnight. The business hours for external, public requests are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Call 410-543-7075 for assistance. Requests for information from midnight to 7:00 a.m. are directed to the Information Services Department.

For continuity of patient care, Medical Record access is available twenty-four hours a day. All other access must be appropriate and authorized.
