At its annual Board of Directors meeting on October 1, Peninsula Regional Health System members elected four of their peers to leadership roles on the Health System Board of Directors and the Medical Center’s Board of Trustees.

Murray (Ray) K. Hoy, Ed.D was elected Chairman of the Health System Board of Directors and Chairman of the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees. Dr. Hoy, who was initially elected to the Health System Board of Directors and the Medical Center Board of Trustees in 2002, is the President of Wor Wic Community College in Salisbury, Maryland. He replaces Farouk Sultani, MD, who served as Chairman of both Peninsula Regional Boards from October of 2006 through the October 1st meeting this year.

Elected Vice Chairman of both governing bodies was Martin Neat. Mr. Neat is President/CEO of First Shore Federal Savings & Loan Association. He was initially elected to the Health System Board of Directors and the Medical Center Board of Trustees in 2005.

Edward W. Urban was elected Secretary of the Health System and Medical Center Boards. Mr. Urban is the Executive Vice President of Harvard Custom Manufacturing. He was initially elected to the Peninsula Regional Board of Trustees in 1996 and Medical Center the Board of Directors in 1999.

Elected Treasurer was William R. McCain, President/CEO of W.R. McCain Associates and current Vice President of the Wicomico County Council. Mr. McCain was initially elected to the Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees in 2005.

“We are extremely fortunate to have four gentlemen of this caliber and with such great civic conviction not only on our Boards but also committed to sharing their leadership experience at a period when we are embarking on an aggressive Strategic Plan for the next five years,” added Peggy Naleppa, Peninsula Regional Medical Center President.
